AfterShock Volleyball Club-Y

(AVC-Y)

A special league dedicated to the growth and development of younger players ages 9-14

About AVC-Y

AVC-Y is a practice/training league within the AfterShock Volleyball Club devoted to the growth and development of players under the age of 14.

Coaches are seasoned veterans focused on developing player knowledge, skill, technique, and court awareness. Families can expect a cooperative yet competitive environment with positional training and team scrimmage. This ensures players can practice, compete, and refine what they learn.

Practices are held Saturdays from 9-11am October-April

Families pay $170 on a month-to-month basis allowing for flexibility of schedule.

Why Choose AVC-Y?

The Perfect Next Step for Young Players

Rather than starting from scratch, AVC-Y meets players wherever they are in their volleyball journey. Whether they've played school volleyball, recreational leagues, or are just discovering their love for the game, we focus on building upon their existing foundation and taking their skills to the next level.

Our Philosophy:

  • Build Upon Experience: We reinforce and expand on what players have already learned, regardless of where they learned it
  • Perfect Timing: October start provides the ideal opportunity for continued growth during the off-season
  • Maintain Momentum: Keep young athletes engaged and developing instead of letting skills fade during downtime

What Makes Us Different

We understand that every player comes with different experiences - some from school teams, others from youth leagues, camps, or family play. Rather than treating everyone the same, we meet players where they are and help them advance from that point. Our approach ensures continuous development and builds confidence, so players return to any volleyball setting stronger and more skilled.

Inaugural Season Sees Success!

Thank you for making our 1st AVC-Y season fantastic!

Our newest team/league saw over 40 players learning and growing their knowledge and skills in volleyball. Coach Emily Griggs led Saturday workouts focused on sport vocabulary, position training, court awareness, team communication, and good sportsmanship. All keys to success in both sports and life!

We can't wait for the next season to get here!
